"Design Local, Build Local" is the Northwestern Ontario Society of Architects’ campaign to raise the profile of local architecture and to promote the unique benefits of choosing a Northwestern Ontario architect.

The campaign showcases some of the region’s most distinctive local design and build projects through high impact visual media.  All of the projects featured in the campaign have been designed and managed by a Northwestern Ontario architect. They are the projects that make us proud to live in the North and include our hospitals, schools, waterfront developments, public artwork and more.

The campaign is simple to participate in – any regional architect or supporter of local architecture can choose to sponsor the campaign by submitting images of their local work or by having their name appear on a Design Local, Build Local billboard. 

By uniting as a community to express our support for the Design Local , Build Local philosophy, we can build a picture of what makes people proud to live in the North and encourage others to give voice to the importance of locally designed and built architecture.
