About NWOSA

Architecture is a planning, design and building process for physical structures and spaces. It requires an expert combination of art, science and passion.

The Northwestern Ontario Society of Architects (NWOSA) is a not-for-profit organization and the local chapter of the Ontario Association of Architects.  We are comprised of members who are licensed architects and technologists, students of architecture, and affiliates. Together, we act as a collective voice for great local architecture.

NWOSA plays an important communication and advocacy role, ensuring that architecture is given appropriate consideration in community planning across the region. Our work involves education and outreach to government, industrial, commercial and residential stakeholders.

Our members also act as champions for the architecture profession. Architects in Northwestern Ontario are highly trained and regulated professionals with the expertise to create beautiful, safe, and accessible spaces. Through collaboration, professional development, and peer recognition, we ensure that the highest standards of architectural talent continue to be available in the region.

Regardless of building type or scale, choosing to Design Local Build Local makes sense!
